March 20th 2020
Due to the coronavirus / COVID-19 situation, the SPOT Festival announced today that the festival will not be held this year.
Unfortunately, this also means that Århus Sinfonietta has to postpone the project with the band Bona Fide to a later date.
We will be returning as soon as we have a new date!
On behalf of Århus Sinfonietta,
Allan Gravgaard Madsen, Artistic Director
DAWN gently reaches out to the past and pushes strongly to the present.
The work is written by the band Bona Fide for Århus Sinfonietta and consists of a number of musical spaces, which work with themes such as longing, faith, hope, memory and repetition.
DAWN travels through time and place, light and dark - from an eleventh-century monastery to the American dream of the prairie and the open expanses - with storytelling in focus.
In the 45-minute work, the Goth-folk band Bona Fide merges with the classical ensemble into a new genre-breaking prism that stands with outstretched hands towards early country, rock and modern compositional music.
