LYDRUM #4: Concert for a Space and Time
Concert for a Space and Time - an alternative Christmas concert created specifically for the passage in The Scandinavian Center.
With winter wet steps you rush through The Scandinavian Center. You pass through the place, the place passes through you, you pass through each other without noticing each other's change in the time you spend together.
Composed with inspiration taken from the building materials, ‘Concert for a Space’ and Time opens up a new experience of the passage through the center. The piece plunges into the location's features and materials: stairs, stones, steel, glass. The static is dissolved and travels back to the location before the building was the building, before glass was glass, until there is only movement.
This concert gives the classic Christmas concert a new set of clothes and invites you to experience the special quality, resonance and acoustics of the location.
Show up at 5 pm Sunday, November 24, at The Scandinavian Center at the entrance to Plan 1, close to Godsbanen. Stay for while or pass on, or be guided along, through, and up via escalators, floors, bridges, eyes and ears.
The concert is supported by SNYK, Statens Kunstfonds Projektstøtteudvalg for Scenekunst, Aarhus Kommune Musikpuljen og Initiativpuljen, Dansk Komponist Forening og KODA Kultur..
The concert was produced by AUT - Aarhus Unge Tonekunstnere in collaboration with Århus Sinfonietta, the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus, and ACC (Aarhus Congress Center).
